Reading to Our Preschoolers

Reading to our children is an important part of getting them ready for school. When children have the opportunity to spend time enjoying books with their caregivers it fosters a love of books that will inspire them to want to learn to read and encourage them to become life time learners.

- When we spend time with our children reading books, we help them develop their listening skills and their imaginations.

- Talking to our children about the stories we read together helps our children develop their thinking and language skills.

- Looking at pictures and listening to us read the book introduces children to new words, new information and new ideas.
